0.5.6 — 5 October 2026
Current release. Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Everything in 0.5.5 below, plus a week of native tests in VirtualDJ, Rekordbox and Traktor, and a record of every tag the app has ever written:
- VirtualDJ round trip. DJ Sync reads VirtualDJ’s own lists into the crate import, next to Serato and Rekordbox, and can push the verified genre and the TrackClear status into VirtualDJ’s library, one database per drive, the way VirtualDJ keeps it. Seen working in VirtualDJ 8.5; the app refuses to write while VirtualDJ is running, and asks before it writes at all.
- Rekordbox gets the status and the genre. The rekordbox.xml export now carries the TrackClear status as Comments and the verified genre as Grouping, so both show in Rekordbox’s own columns after an import. Tested on Rekordbox 7.2.19. Write tags in the default Grouping mode also fills an empty Genre tag, so a track no longer sits in Rekordbox as “Other” with a genre we knew.
- Traktor. Choose Traktor as the reader of the M3U8 export and the playlists come out as
.m3ufiles with plain names, one file per import, because Traktor Pro 4 does not import.m3u8. Tested on Traktor Pro 4.4.122. - Changed by TrackClear. Every tag the app writes is logged with what the file said before. Reports › Changed by TrackClear shows the lot, and you can put back one row, a whole run, or the rows you tick. Restore original Genre, the reversal the Write tags hint had always promised, is wired end to end: a dry run first, then the write.
- Write tags asks first. A dry run lists what would move before a few hundred files do. The real write skips files that already say it and reports how many of the batch changed.
- The DJ app you sync to is remembered, and every tag-writing screen follows it, with the right “what to click in your DJ app afterwards” hint for Serato, Rekordbox, VirtualDJ or Traktor.
- Plain-text status labels. The Comments labels read
TC: Avoid - blockedandTC: Cleared - trackednow, with a hyphen. Thirty-three files in a real library had come back cut toTC: Blafter another program re-saved the tag in an older text encoding; a plain hyphen survives any of them. Existing comments heal on the next Write tags. - YouTube. A Past tests card keeps every uploaded test video with Re-test, Re-check and Open in Studio. The awaiting-results banner is a two-step: Open in Studio first, Paste from Studio once the video is open. A Queue tick leaves with its row, so the selection count is honest. Save to Library keeps the date the result was measured.
- Smaller things. The key column is called Key wheel. The scan deck’s tip card draws one of fifteen tips instead of the same one forever. The sidebar grip sits clear of the scrollbar. Groundwork for a Mac build went in behind platform checks; Windows takes the same path it took before.

0.5.5 — 1 October 2026
Superseded by 0.5.6. Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Everything in 0.5.4 below, plus two more days of eye-testing on a real library, a crate export that counts straight, and a support address of our own:
- Notes ride along into Serato without touching yours. Show in Serato now adds the track note after whatever comment the file already carries, instead of replacing it. Nothing you typed in Serato is overwritten.
- “No match” is grey, not green. A fingerprint pre-check that finds nothing is an unknown, not a clear. Green stays reserved for a verified clear.
- Custom sub-crates. Every sub-crate picker in the Genre tab has a “New sub-crate” entry, so a typed name files the track and exports as its own crate under the genre.
- Remove TrackClear’s crates from your DJ software. A Settings button finds every crate DJ Sync wrote, in Serato and Rekordbox, and deletes those and only those.
- The crate export counts straight. The DJ Sync banner and the confidence gate could disagree by nineteen tracks because three places kept their own idea of a verified genre. There is one rule now, and a genre you filed, confirmed or wrote to the tags yourself counts as verified at any score.
- Fewer misfiled tracks. When a fingerprint matches several recordings at the same score, the file’s own artist and title break the tie, so a Run-DMC track no longer lands in a country crate. A sub-crate is only kept under its own parent genre, which is how an East Coast crate had appeared under Jazz.
- Years from evidence. The identified year is the song’s first release, not the matched reissue. A bracketed year in the filename counts in the Metadata review, and a Date tag alone never decides a Decade crate.
- Tag conflict. The Metadata tab flags a file whose own title or artist contradicts what the fingerprint identified, so you decide which to believe before anything is written.
- Smaller things. “Not duplicates” hides a fuzzy duplicate group for good (a remix beside its original). The Long silence chip says which end and how long. The bulk toolbar floats at the bottom of the library list. The uninstaller asks whether to keep your app data.
- Email feedback works again, and it goes to [email protected]. Since 0.5.1 a safety rule that stops the app opening anything but web links had also been eating the mail link; the button did nothing, silently. It now opens your mail program.

0.5.4 — 29 September 2026
Superseded by 0.5.5. Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Everything in 0.5.3 below, plus what the first day of eye-testing on a real library turned up:
- Identify by sound now works on one track. Picking it from the Library menu opens the Genre tab scoped to that track alone, instead of the whole library, and the Review panel prefills the title and artist from the identification so you only confirm.
- A lapsed YouTube sign-in says what to do. Google sign-ins on this app expire after seven days for now. An upload on an expired one now says “Disconnect, then Connect again” and drops the connected chip, instead of a raw error under a chip still reading connected.
- Day mode is readable. Text on green buttons is white (the Genre “File as” button was black on dark green) and the Library loaded card is light instead of black.
- Honest failures. Clear library and the audio genre classifier report what actually happened instead of a green success when the backend did nothing.

0.5.3 — 28 September 2026
Superseded by 0.5.4 the next day. Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Everything in 0.5.2 below, plus one thing:
- Hover “YouTube connected” to see which channel uploads go to. If you keep several Google accounts signed in, the browser picks one when you connect, and until now the app did not say which. It now names the channel, and if it is the wrong one, Disconnect and connect again to pick the other account.

0.5.2 — 28 September 2026
First public release, superseded by 0.5.3 the same day. Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Everything described under 0.5.1 below, plus what the last week of testing on a real library turned up:
- Check quality measures again. The spectrum reader had been blind since it shipped, so every file scored well. It now reads the audio itself, and the score follows the measurement: a file with a 320 kbps header over a 128 kbps spectrum scores 44, not 90. Duplicates rank the copy to keep on that measured bitrate too, so a real 256 beats a fake 320.
- Crates on a second drive resolve in Serato. Serato keeps one library folder per drive and reads a crate as one file per drive. Every crate was being written to C:, which left every track on an external drive showing as missing. Each drive now gets its own copy.
- Unplugged drives are left alone. Tracks on a drive that is not connected are reported as offline, never offered for removal, and the notice clears the moment the drive is back. A library file is a library file whatever folder it was first scanned from.
- Notes and flags on any track, with an optional Show in Serato that writes the note to the Comment tag. Protection rules keep chosen tracks out of batch fixes, and a quality threshold (gig, standard, minimal) decides what counts as a problem.
- Say whether your channel is in the Partner Program (Settings, YouTube channel). The same monetize claim reads “Revenue share” on a Partner channel and “No revenue” on any other, because YouTube splits ad money with partners only. The clearance write-up now says which one applies to you, and the paste summary counts claims correctly.
- Tempo band column, named for what it is (a BPM bucket) with the thresholds on hover. Zoom, Full Screen with a way out, and the window remembers its size and position.
- Auto-fix says when a title fix only removes a doubled space, instead of showing two identical strings.

What to do about that.
0.5.1 — 21 September 2026
Built and tested, never handed out: 0.5.2 replaced it before downloads opened. This is what the app does; 0.5.2 adds to it.
- YouTube clearance. Take a crate, build short clips, combine them into one private video on your own channel, then paste YouTube’s claim page back in. Every track comes back cleared, tracked, revenue-share or blocked.
- Identification by fingerprint. An acoustic fingerprint, made on your computer, recognizes the recording itself rather than the filename. The audio never leaves your computer — only the fingerprint goes to AcoustID to find a match, and the sound cannot be rebuilt from it.
- Genre and tags. Artist, title, artwork and a consistent genre across the library, with a confidence gate deciding what files itself and what waits for you.
- Library repair. Duplicates, files claiming a bitrate they never had, clipping, mono.
- Crate export. Serato and Rekordbox crates, plus M3U8 for Traktor and VirtualDJ. Existing crates are read, never overwritten.
- 14-day trial. Everything unlocked, no card. After that the app keeps running, with the paid features switched off — your library, tags and crates stay yours either way.
Fixed between 0.5.0 and 0.5.1:
- A claim is no longer thrown away because the song has a short name. Content ID names the original recording, so an edit arrives as the claim title plus a suffix — and tracks like “All Out” were being dropped for being too few characters to match on, with the artist sitting right there agreeing.
- The community check runs on the tracks you picked, not the whole library, and when it finds nothing it says why rather than blaming the database.
- Auto-fix in Metadata applies every fix a track needs, instead of stopping after the first.
- An upload that gets stuck can be stopped.
No download: superseded by 0.5.2 above.
