YouTube Content ID clearance for DJs

Know before
you play.

Find out which tracks YouTube’s Content ID will claim before the mix goes up. TrackClear Studio tests your library from your own channel, then identifies every recording, fixes tags and genres, finds duplicates, and writes it all back as Serato and Rekordbox crates. TikTok, Twitch and SoundCloud checks are next.

Windows 10/11 · macOS coming · your music never leaves your computer
The TrackClear Studio library: clearance counts for 1,126 tracks across cleared,
no claim yet, tracked, revenue share, no revenue and blocked, above a table listing each
track's format, genre, bitrate, quality score and YouTube clearance status.

Tests Content ID

Uploads short snippets to your own channel as private videos. Copy the claim page back into the app and every track gets a verdict.

Identifies the recording

Acoustic fingerprints recognize the track itself, not the filename somebody typed.

Fixes tags & genre

Clean artist, title, artwork and a consistent genre across the whole library.

Finds what is wrong

Duplicates, a “320” that was a 128 once, clipping, mono files.

Exports crates

Serato and Rekordbox crates, plus playlists for VirtualDJ (M3U8) and Traktor (.m3u). Sorted by clearance, by genre, or both.

One library. One workflow.

Your whole library, handled in five steps.

Five steps, in the order you actually need them. Nothing moves, deletes or re-encodes your files.

01

Scan

Point it at the folders your music lives in, on the computer or a USB drive. Or let it read your Serato crates and Rekordbox playlists to find those folders for you.

02

Identify

Fingerprints work out what each recording actually is, so the rest of the results are about the right track.

03

Clear

Pick a crate, and TrackClear tests it against Content ID. Most results arrive within ten minutes to an hour.

04

Fix

Duplicates, empty fields, missing artwork, bad bitrates and the grouping tag Serato reads but iTunes does not write.

05

Sync

Write it all back as crates and playlists. Your existing crates are read, never overwritten.

In the app

Three screens that do the work.

Clearance

Test a crate against Content ID.

Add tracks, build short clips, combine them into one private video on your own channel, then copy YouTube’s claim page back into the app. The queue shows every track’s clip and upload state, so nothing is left guessing.

The YouTube clearance screen: a five-step bar from Add tracks through Identify, Build clips and Upload to Results, a Combine and upload button, and a queue of tracks with clip status, identity pre-check and ready-to-upload state.
Genre

File the library by what it actually is.

Every recording is identified from its audio and given the genre MusicBrainz taggers agreed on. A confidence gate decides what files itself and what waits for you. Edits and bootlegs no database knows get a genre from the sound alone.

The Genre screen: counts for verified, held for review, not in any database, loops and stems, and not looked up yet, with a confidence gate slider set to 70 percent.
DJ sync

Write it back as crates.

Pick Serato, Rekordbox, VirtualDJ or Traktor, set the confidence gate, and TrackClear writes the crates where your DJ software already looks. Nothing is moved or renamed, and the destination is backed up first.

The Sync to DJ software screen: identify genres, choose Serato, Rekordbox, VirtualDJ or Traktor as the target, a confidence gate at 70 percent, and an export summary of 12 crates.
The signature feature

Four of the five answers let you publish.

Most claims are not a problem. They tell you what happens to the video, and most of the time it stays up. TrackClear tells you which one you are looking at before you post.

A silent result is not a promise. Content ID can post a claim hours after an upload, so a test that comes back with nothing is reported as provisional, not as cleared. Green is reserved for a result that has been verified. TrackClear reports what the platform returned; it is not a legal opinion.
✓

Cleared

No claim was found, and the result has been verified rather than assumed.

👁

Tracked

A rights holder is watching the analytics only. The video stays up and the revenue stays yours.

$

Revenue share

Ads run and the ad money is split between you and the label, on Partner Program channels. The video stays up.

∅

No revenue

The video stays up and the label keeps the ad money. On a channel outside the Partner Program, every monetize claim reads this way.

×

Blocked

The track will be blocked, sometimes only in certain countries. Swap it out.

Your files

The music stays on your machine.

TrackClear is a desktop application, not a service you upload a library to. Everything it learns about your music lives in a database on your own computer.

Audio is never uploaded. Identifying a track sends a fingerprint — a numeric summary of the sound — and nothing more. The audio cannot be rebuilt from it.
Your own YouTube account. Clearance tests run on your channel and the sign-in stays on your machine. We run no server that receives your YouTube data.
No tracking inside the app. No analytics, no telemetry. Nothing reports back what you listen to or what you do.
Shared verdicts are opt-in. The community clearance database is off until you turn it on, and it exchanges fingerprints and outcomes, never audio.

Keep your DJ workflow

Export your crates.

Organize once, then move the prepared library back into the software you already play from. TrackClear does not replace it. Serato and Rekordbox get native crates. VirtualDJ imports the M3U8 playlists. Traktor gets .m3u copies with plain names, because Traktor Pro 4 does not import .m3u8.

Optional add-on
Clearance plan
$49/ year

For DJs who publish everywhere. An add-on to a Studio license, so you need the license first. Cancel any time.

  • Now: look up a whole crate at once in the shared verdict database, which holds what other DJs’ tests found. Without the plan you get 25 lookups a month, plus 20 more for each verdict you contribute, and at most 50 tracks per check.
  • As they launch: clearance testing on platforms beyond YouTube. None are live yet.
  • Price lock: join at $49 and you keep paying $49 a year, even after the price goes up to $69 for new subscribers. The lock holds as long as your plan keeps renewing. If you cancel and rejoin later, you pay the price at that time.
Add it from inside the app

YouTube clearance is inside Studio. You do not need the plan for it. Prices in US dollars, plus VAT or sales tax where applicable.

Try it on your own library first. Everything works for 14 days, no card needed. After that, inspecting and fixing one track at a time stays free; acting on the whole library needs the license.

FAQ

Built for working DJs.

Does TrackClear replace Serato or Rekordbox?

No. It prepares, tests and organizes your library, then exports it back into the software you already play from.

Does “Cleared” mean I own the rights?

No. It means YouTube’s Content ID returned no claim on that recording when tested from your channel, and the result was verified. It is a report of what the platform did, not a legal opinion, and platforms can change their minds.

Why does it need my YouTube account?

The only way to know what Content ID will do with a track is to ask Content ID. TrackClear uploads a short snippet video to your own channel, set to private. You copy the claim page from YouTube Studio and paste it back, and the app matches every claim to a track. The sign-in stays on your machine.

Is the trial limited?

Everything works for 14 days. After that, inspecting and fixing one track at a time stays free; acting on the whole library needs the license.

When is the Mac version coming?

It is in progress and will be a separate release. Buy once; the license covers both.
